Children learn by noticing, asking questions, and trying things for themselves. Playful learning brings those choices together with a little guidance from a grown-up.
Science Quest draws inspiration from playful learning research. Across our bookshelf, children have room to talk, test, count, color, and create, at their own pace.
Research inspires the Science Quest approach; the book has not been evaluated in a learning trial. Every child’s experience is different.
For the grown-ups behind every little adventure.

The PDFs are US Letter size (8.5 × 11 inches). For the activity and story books, select your chosen activity page; blank backs are included in several titles. For Puzzleport Play-Offs, print the full two-page game spread so the rules and play board stay together. Use black-and-white printing, and print single-sided at 100% or “Actual size.” Use “Fit” if your printer needs extra margins. Nature Detective includes blank reverse pages, so choose the mission page itself. Science Quest points you to the matching grown-up’s guide.
For younger readers, a grown-up can read the directions aloud and offer support. Science activities require adult preparation and supervision. The story and creative books include their own guidance, from open-ended coloring to puzzles and discovery questions. Confident readers can explore with optional grown-up discussion. Follow the age guidance and instructions for your chosen book.
The books offer shared activities for families and teacher-led exploration. Nature Detective, Dinosaur Adventures, and The Great Silly Mix-Up are designed for ages 4–6; Science Quest for ages 4–7.
